What do I feed my chickens?

Yeah, my parents told me I couldn't feed them chicken, because it would possibly spread genetic diseases. They both went to collage for that kind of thing so I trust them.

Maybe if you fed them infected meat from an obviously sick bird, but none of mine have ever gotten sick from eating chicken and I've done it for a decade as treats

This hen was a champion at a show. I do feed my birds commercial show feed, but for the amount of birds I have, I go through around a half ton of feed a month.

That would make sense. Aren't all of those commercial meat company's tested for serious illnesses? I wouldn't worry as much with meat from a healthy bird.

Nice! I will watch the vid later. I wouldn't recommend feeding them chicken though, as it can lead to genetic diseases.

I probably feed them chicken once every two weeks or so... we usually finish our chicken on our plates lol. I just wanted to share that it’s OK to feed them chicken & eggs IN MODERATION.

I haven't watched your video but if the photo of whole grain feed on the cover of the video is what your feed looks like i wouldn't feed it.
Pelleted or crumble type is better.

Why do you feel crumble is better ?

I have heard pellets are EXTREMELY hard for chickens to digest and they have to eat more bc less of their food is being absorbed

Because they'll eat what they like, not what they need by being picky. Pellets and crumbles have all the food (or most of it) varied in each pellet so they can't be picky
