I wanted to raise the Gambel quail that I see in the deserts here in Arizona. I inquired about the legality of it with the fish and game dept. here and I am allowed to raise them for pets, keep them, and eat them, but it is illegal for me to sell them or release them back to the wild. I think I want a breed that is really tiny which I think is the buttons. I just want them for pets and eggs and to see if they will hatch some chicks. I don't think I will be doing the gambel quail though because I don't want issues with people thinking that it is illegal.
