What do you do with pine tar?

Pine tar is an antiseptic, germicidial ointment used most commonly on horse's hooves.
For chickens it's great for pecking issues. It's stinky, gooey and has super glue beat for stickyness. I applied some once to Lil' Bit's behind when she was in the brooder and getting picked on. One application was all it took. Chickens hate the taste (feel?) of it and run around trying to get it off their beaks. It taught the other chooks a lesson about pecking where they shouldn't peck.

Because this is a family friendly forum I won't type the first thought that came into my mind. However I have an almost full can of the pine tar. Are you going to cover him in it or yourself?

Yeah, I'm going to get some just to experiment with it.

Be careful what you wish for?

No need to experiment. I can tell you exactly what will happen. You'll feel like you've wrapped yourself in a couple of fly strips. Everything you touch will then have pine tar on it. People will suddenly start standing upwind from you.
The only thing I made more of a mess is when I had the little incident involving microwavable wax for hair removal and the cat.

Seriously, pine tar works. You can find it in the equine section of the farmer's co-op/tractor supply store. If you can get your hands on some tongue depressors that's a good way to apply it. Popsicle sticks will work in a pinch.
