I think the egg was also calcium coated and felt sandpaper like and a little powdery, so I thought there might be an excess of calcium in her body.Well, thin-shelled eggs indicates low calcium intake. Once she gets enough calcium she'll lay perfect, healthy eggs. Some things you can give to her are crushed oyster shells, used eggshells, etc.
