I was relaxing on my couch with my chicken, but then she started making an odd noise. The noise was reminiscent of a bubble sound effect mixed with a helicopter. I searched everywhere but I could not find it. My hen, Beowulf (Beo for short) is a rescue who used to be beaten and was half starved when she showed up at our house. She has no medical conditions I am aware of and she is treated with much love and respect. She had already payed that morning, and was not too warm and not degydrated. I have a YouTube video with the noise in it:
THANKS!!!

Sounds like she is purring/trilling, mine do it too when snuggling me, one-another or dust/sunbathing together. :) It means she is very comfortable and happy.
Here's my youngsters at around 2 months old doing it.

Danger or distress. It sounds similar to the sounds that chickens make when an areal threat is spotted.

Though it is usually quieter and not as long as the purring/trilling. The distress sound is very similar, but mine purr/trill when there's no threat and are snuggling and dust/sunbathing.
