What does your coop/run look like?

I don't have ducks...yet. but this is the poop door we built into our chicken coop to make cleaning it a bit easier. Ground level would be ideal but it sometimes isn't feasible depending on your topography.

I also added a storage area inside my coop on one side since I don't have anywhere to store supplies and stuff.

I've got to get my husband to help cut out a poop door on our coop, great idea. I got a coop from the neighbor last fall-going out to clean my coop right now and I don't have a poop door. So I have to scoop & scrape everything out. Having a problem getting my hens out. My hubby says they'll get out when I start cleaning, they all want to know what I'm doing and are all around my feet, lol. I may have to do another big cleaning after this, I want to put sand down. Heard it's healthier on their feet. All I have right now is wood chips & straw. Will post a pic, we haven't been able to paint, yet. So it'll be a before pic.

I have a 10 x 20 and keep 10 chickens and built a 6 x 4 holding pen waiting for me to build another 10 x 20.
The lights are an exterior set from Harbor Freight @ $20.
Where the tarp is was my biggest mistake as I should have planned for and installed a rigid roof. I'm in south Florida where the sun can be brutal and the rain heavy. I'll be putting up galvanized sheeting soon. $75 home depot.
The holding pen is my 3 Brahmas the little one in front is my roo, he's 3 weeks and the two hens are 8 weeks.
I'm gleefully growing monsters!!

I would not use sand. I have read on Fresh Eggs Daily(blog/books) that is can be bad to eat. For ducks and chickens. I will post a link and maybe it will help you find a good choice for bedding. The link below is called pine vs shavings, but will get into good things to use for bedding. Good luck!!!!:thumbsup

Lots of people use sand. Some of her advice is inconsistent with what others have had success with. She is after all a blogger first and now has a following so has written a few books.
