What else should I put in my coop?

Well, the coop looks great. My wife said you need an interior decorator. I'm not finished building mine and she has bought a light put some ornamental art up. LOL. The funny thing was from day one my chickens my responsibility however she is jumping in a playing with them, naming them and dalling in love with them. The sad thing is if any are roos they have to go county won't allow them. But looks great nice job

Nice job on the coop! The two biggest things that I did on mine and have never regreted: 1) putting in a poop board that I cover with PDZ and scoop each morning, and 2) framing in the area under the poop board and down to the floor as a brooder/integration pen with doors, etc. I have lights under it that I can control as well as a camera for remote viewing. It's been a great general purpose area if you even need to separate from the flock but want to keep them visible to the flock.

Also, to add, if I'm not needing to keep anything separated at the time, I just leave the doors open, so the birds can still use the full floor space under there. The picture doesn't quite show it, but the doors interleve together when open to take up minimal space.

Chickens cannot see in the dark, hence, why they go to bed at sunset. They prefer the dark to sleep in. I had outdoor lights surrounding the outside of the coop to deter predators, but the roosters were crowing all night thinking it was not dark. Not as dark as he wanted. I unplugged the lights and he sleeps all night - so do the hens now!!
