what genetic will the rooster pass and determine to the chickes and what wil the hen pass to chicks?

Great summary. One more thing I'd like to know is, does the rooster or hen have more say about rate of growing/maturing?

Slow maturing roo breed over fast maturing hen breed, will offspring take their rate of maturing from father or mother?
polygenitc Trait, not a single gene, most of those genes are autosomal and a few would be sexlinked..
 
Thanks, but err, in English and for non geneticists does that mean both parents have an equal part to play in rate of maturity?

Based on Breeding experience of a breeder for fighting cocks.

Hens passes its genes 60-65% to its offspring and Cocks passes 35-40% of its genes.

And based on what I read in breeding parrot birds, science based.

Cocks have X and X chromosomes while Hens Have X and Y

So basically its offspring will be

XX 50%
XY 50%

Y chromosomes of the chicken will be the hidden trait,

for the XY offspring, to determine their dominant traits you will mate the hens to your original cock and the offspring will show their dominant traits. not applicable for the original hen to X and Y cock offsprings.

as for Sex linked and Not Sex linked, I'm still learning about it coz its a bit of confusing. no comment this.

for the meantime that is all my knowledge, and still learning in breeding.

I'm learning from a breeder of cockfighting then I'm gonna use it in breeding egg layers.

No. Chicken chromosomes are ZW. ZZ Roo and ZW the hen. She determines the sex of the offspring. The Z chromosome is the one that determines that she is a female, it carries no genes at all, it is only there for sex determination. These are gametes (sex cells) not body cells.

That's interesting. What about sex linked chicks. If the chicks down coloration isn't carried by the Z chromosome how do only the pullets have down that is dramatically different than the cockerels.
 
Like said males are ZZ and females are ZW.
Just using black sex links as an example.
The idea of BSL is that female chicks will be non barred and male chicks will be barred.
The gene responsible is on the Z and is either barred or non barred and barred is dominate so one copy will show barring.
With barring a hen only has one slot so she is either barred or not. Roosters have two spots and can be single gene barred, double gene barred or non barred.
For BSL you use a non barred rooster over a barred hen. The non barred rooster will pass one of his non barred gene to all offspring. The pullets will be non barred from that gene. The hen will pass her barred gene on the Z chromosome to her sons so they will get that barring gene and be barred.
Since the rooster has two Zs that is what he will pass to all offspring.
The hen has a Z and a W. If she passes the Z on that chick will be male and get the barring gene on that Z. If she passes the W on that chick will be female and not get a barring or non barring gene because they aren't on the W.
Hens only pass sex link genes to sons and only receive them from their father.
Does that make enough sense to follow?
