What do you use for your coturnix quails dust bath? I've read many things (play sand, dirt, ash, etc).
Advice greatly appreciated.

Do you do solely peat moss or mix it with something else? Thank you for this valuable info and your time. They do not eat it.
My cages are all pretty much covered (the floor) with peat moss filled boxes. They do fling some out of the cages but I just add more when needed.
Solely. It's just fancy dirt.Do you do solely peat moss or mix it with something else? Thank you for this valuable info and your time.
I use play sand from Home Depot or Lowe's. They love it when the sand is moist out of the bag. I change it weekly. By then it's "worn out" and soiled. What do you use for your coturnix quails dust bath? I've read many things (play sand, dirt, ash, etc).

Play sand is designed to clump. There's a chance that it will clump in your birds' crops. Construction sand is better if you want to use sand.I use play sand from Home Depot or Lowe's. They love it when the sand is moist out of the bag. I change it weekly. By then it's "worn out" and soiled.
