We trained a young Staffie to watch the security monitors and sound alerts when he saw anyone on camera .He became a service dog later and worked with my sister at a youth center for troubled teens in WVI think all of them are important for a well-mannered dog. I feel like another good one is teaching them to not jump on people/counter surf (so like “off”). Obviously potty training is important too
I definitely have some things I still need to work on with my dog, but she’s also a service dog in training so I’m working on a lot of socialization and specialized tasks (alerting, deep pressure therapy, etc.) and being able to have an on/off switch, and switching between working and being a pup.
