Sounds like fun. I am so glad someone mentions stuffed eggs. I need to make those to and some slaw.
Fried dill pickles are good also if you make chicken on a stick and put them between the chicken pieces before you batter and fry them. I just dip dill chips in buttermilk then flour and fry.

Menageriemama, having a family fest is fun. We usually end up with a crowd of family too and when it gets dark we will have the light on in the pool and everyone sits around the pool and watches the guys do the fireworks out over a feild past our back yard. Of course the young ones have to do sparklers.

One of my cornish on the grill, and fajitas with hot peppers on the grill mixed with onions. Some sort of salad on the side and the usual beer, iced tea and lemonade.

Well, we celebrate July 1 rst...Canada Day, not sure what I'm cooking, must be something easy as hubby who usually does the cooking got a new job and will be at work

, but hamburgers or bbq chicken sounds good to me, but my kids will have their own opinions!

Wish we could have fireworks, but we have horses, and one of them spooks at just about anything, so I'll pass on that!
Gosh, you guys down in the states have some awesome sounding recipes!!

its not a big deal for us, maybe do up some burgers and corn. The race track across the highway sets off fireworks so we will just take chairs out into the field behind the house and watch.

Chicken on the grill (meat chickens, blue orps roos)
potato salad or cloeslaw - still undecided
baked beans
something
something
potato rolls

We have my mother and in-laws coming

popcycles and the swimming pool and big fireworks

We have a family camping trip planned. I can't believe its almost here. It really snuck up on me this year! We are meeting my in-laws ans hubbys sister and her family. They always look to me to bring something new, exciting and yummy! I am at a total loss this year for some reason. I have other non food issues on my brain I guess. Anyway does anyone have a salad recipie that might wow them? A different cookie or bar recipe would be nice too. I own a hundred cook books and of course could look on line but I want to see what you might have for me! Thanks in advance!

Hot & sweet sausages on the grill with peppers and onions, baked beans, corn on cob, tuna macaroni salad, and some kind of desert, maybe chocolate cream pie.

Iced cold beer, and other drinks. Have a safe one everybody.
