Beautiful duck! I'm tempted to say swedish cross, maybe with cayuga or magpie, maybe something else entirely- I'm no expert on breeds.
If it is female, it will quack properly, loud like a honk, if it is male, it will make a raspy whispery quack sound. Almost like there's a cricket or frog in their throat! Looks male to me, actually, but only if it is young as there is no drake feather.

Can't help with the breed -- all I know are runner ducks. I don't see what I would consider drake feathers, so I would lean toward female, but I'm far from sure.

What I do know is that you have one good-looking duck! Beautiful feathering and I love the multi-colored feet.
same! I love the patterning- Arent those waddlers just the cutest 😭

How old is the duck? And where did you get it from?

Is it your only duck?

And HOW do you keep from getting POOP all over?!? :lau
The ducks about 5-6 months old maybe more, it is my only duck, and Amazon has DUCK DIAPERS! lol I bought him a few. Also I got the duck from a women who was selling their eggs but she doesn't know the breed or if it's a girl or boy

I have some amazon duck diapers too! Lifesavers.
sounds like it could be a hen then, does she quack? I would highly reccomend getting her a friend, ducks are social animals and thrive on being part of a flock. She may be lonely

I tried to get her a chicken friend....they just fight and my duck would try and peck her eyes. I left it run around my house it acts just like one of my dogs lol and it does honk loudly, you can hear it from the kitchen which if a few yards away. I'm currently incubating Easter chicken eggs so we will see if they get along

Ducks do best with other ducks, but when introducing any new birds I highly recommend keeping them seperate but so where they can see each other, like partitioning off sections for them to meet through the fence, for a good while. Rarely do birds just get along when tossed together. She would most likely do best with another duck.
