It looks like Lash Egg or Salpingitis which is Inflammation Of The Oviduct.So I found this in one of my nest boxes. I'm not sure who laid it. But what is this!? Obviously I'm concerned.
It's good that no one is acting sick.How do I determine which one it is? Nobody is acting sick and all the rear ends look clean. I have some amoxicillin dosed for people. What would the dose be for a chicken? Mine are about 5 lb

Usually this is caused by Infection due to E. Coli, Salmonella or other bacterial or viral infection.
You can try treating the infection with an antibiotic. Tetracyclines, Amoxicillin or Enroflocaxin are commonly used.

For me, I would use Amoxicillin.For salpingitis.
