I read that females had fewer caruncles than males, and I think Sr Pato is male (the veterinarian also thinks so) hahahaha.
Your ducks are beautiful, it makes me want to touch the caruncles to your drake haha, what tact do they have? Why do they get out?

Bottom pic they are younsters if you look close you can still see Peg is feathering in. They won't start getting caruncles until around 6 months.

Then I'll still have to wait a bit to see Sr Pato's caruncles come out haha.

Soft skin so do touch. As far as caruncles on their faces you’ll have to ask God he made them that way. Must have just wanted something different looking when he was creating ducks! I like the look others think they are ugly. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Caruncle growth depends upon strain/variety. Heavy caruncling is most common in show bred muscovies.
