What predator doesn't leave a trace?

Exactly that's why I'm just confused ab what took it. Normally when one of our birds comes up missing, we can usually find the "crime scene" if you will. After we noticed this guy missing we searched and searched and couldn't find a single feather. Which is crazy to me... trying to see if we can figure out what's prowling around, so we need to beef up our coop. Really hoping we don't loose more before then.
I have same problem!!! My sweet Karen was taken and I am out for revenge!!! No feathers and I heard the cackle, there was a few of her feathers but she’s also molting. I am devastated. My coop doors weren’t closed. It sucks!

Revenge doesn't prevent predators from killing chickens and it won't bring one back that's been taken .Use preventive measures if you love your chickens because predators kill to eat .They must have meat.I'm sorry your hen was taken and hope it never happens again.Predators always return to places they've successfully hunted and got a meal .Always double check to make sure the doors closed

You’re right. I am very emotional. I have a predator proof and run. It was just one of those days and the only way for me to fix it is to force my son and family on a schedule so that my routine with closing up chickens is never delayed if I could, I would do an automatic coop door opener but I can’t. It really sucks.

I’ve already got the hardware mesh with cement lines around. It’s just due to the fact that some type of mishap occurred and a predator took my favourite hen and now I’m heartbroken. I’ve lost my feet another favourite why did she hawks but we took preventative measures. Hawkman keeps the flock safe and we lock them in when it’s a problem. it was not that particular Chicken and it bothers me that I have a predator imposing on coop.

It’s perplexing that I can’t find her body to put her underneath our trees where she should be buried and I have no evidence of what took her just a few feathers. It’s the weirdest thing. I can’t find her anywhere. You would think there would be some type of struggle there would have to be remains.

Upon hearing my roosters sound alerts this spring I quickly ran outside but found nothing until I did a count. The only predators that can grab 2 chickens and get away this fast (without making noise or leaving a trail )are foxes. This is just my experience.

Foxes will watch their caretakers for weeks and analyze the best time to attack with the least risk. My chickens have a predator proof coop and run.
