Recently I lost my my big full grown duck. No feather left behind , just gone. My husband Checked on them about 4 and 5 pm. I got home from work about 6:30 pm. Usually he’s hanging with his female . Anyway when hubby checked on them they were drinking water by the cornfield With the other birds . He’s not known to take off and for humans he’s hard to catch . Anyone have any ideas what can take a bird without a feather left behind? I had a chicken taken the same way in April vanished .

Hi- I am so sorry for your loss!! :(

This spring, I lost a pekin in a similar way. At the time we had a coyote problem, so we assumed it had been snatched up by a 'yote. I'm pretty sure foxes hunt in a similar fashion, too.

Sending you hugs. :hugs

Probably a fox or coyote. In my experience raccoons always leave leave some trace behind. Feathers, blood or something upsetting. It`s the part of keeping livestock I dislike.

Could be a fox, but Pekin are pretty weighty. I'd lean more towards, a dog or coyote, wolf etc.

Typically here, when it was a fox taking out my birds(mainly scovies) there were some remains... nothing massive but a bit...

When the coyote decided to come in and take some scovies drakes they left nothing behind but i could follow the trail of the attack easily enough.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's always a battle to keep the animals safe.
