Whatcha Making for Supper?

Thank you for sharing this. I love sauerkraut but just cannot seem to find it in the store and even when I do, it just doesn't taste right.
Bubbies is pretty good if you can find it. I find it in the deli or where you buy cheeses and lunch meats. But nothing beats homemade if it's anything like my neighbor's!!!
 
Yes, I would like that too. But I have what I have and should use it for something. I think mine is actually for making pickles, but it should be fine for sauerkraut too.

In that makingsauerkraut website I linked to she sometimes uses quart mason jars as fermenters. Maybe you could start that way, with a smaller amount at first. Just an idea.

Smoked pork loin with a side of cooked veggies for the next few days. I usually cook enough at a time so there are plenty of leftovers. Makes making meals easy. LOL
That’s the way I like to do it too! Fortunately DH is not picky about eating leftovers as long as he likes the dish. He could eat spaghetti 5 days in a row then throw pizza in for the next 3 then roast beef or steak same thing.
 
I made a beef stew but dabnaggit it is way too salty.

Peel a couple of potatoes and drop them in your stew to lessen the salt.

Once the salt level comes down remove the potatoes and put in the trash.
