whats a chickens favorite food/snack?

I want to give my chickens a snack but dont know what they like?

Meal worms - black oil sunflower seeds -

My hens go crazy for kernal corn. I defrost frozen to get them back to their house.

Mealworms are crack to my girls. Get the medium size ones though, the small ones are sometimes too small for them to see them on the ground before the mealworm burrows under something.

While your chickens will eat pretty much ANYTHING, there are some foods you should Not feed them.

Raw Potatoes, dry beans, raw meat, chocolate, and never avocados.

My chickens like greens, lots of greens. I hang a cabbage from the top of the coop by a string (I use a small loop of heavy gauge fence line to pull it through the crown) and they will have it devoured in a few hours. Any lettuce, clover, grass, they love.

My girls are spoiled, I have a daylily nursery, so I keep earthworms in my raised beds for a variety of reasons, every afternoon I pull up a handful of worms and the ladies go crazy. They will literally jump up into my arms if I hold the worm up. Mealworms are good if you don't mind spending a few dollars.

Pretty much most of our table scraps, including vegetables, pastas, stale bread, and oatmeal. They love the oatmeal, already cooked. Anyway, there are lists out there, but this is mine.
