what's eating my tomatoes?

Something is making big holes in my ripe tomatoes. Could it be squirrels?

We have never had a problem with squirrels, but slugs will leave pretty good sized damage behind.

Depends on where live, I just discovered about 10 on the bottom rows that had quarter size holes so I watched and waited and sure enough little lizards were eating them. *(&*@#* things!!!!!

I have heard of some type of disease in tomatoes.. i watched well last year and never had any problems.. i agree though pics would help....

Around here the birds get them..... put one or two small holes in one and moves on to the next. They wait until right before they are ready to be picked...... we cut them up and give them to the chickens. (the tomatoes and not the birds!)

Yes, it could be squirrels. They will bite into your tomatoes to get a drink.
