What's the temperature where you are???

13:14hrs

-2C (28F), overcast, light flurries, basically a dreary day. Milding up for the next few days and rain - oh joy. The horses are not keen on rain - they are plains animals used to dry conditions. Hot and dry or cold and dry they are good with. I have seen horses in Alberta in -43C happily going about their business - it’s dry so they remain fluffy with their winter hair, and they will find a wind break if it’s windy.

Rain though and they are miserable.

Today the young chooks got to see snow for the first time hahahaha - they were totally freaked out! They tried to fly away from the evil white stuff but got further stuck in it. I had to go rescues half a dozen of them.

I put down some old bedding for them, the older girls explored a bit, a few of the youngsters also tried out the outdoors. But it started snowing and that was it they all came back in.
