What's wrong with this guineas foot?

I haven't posted for quite a while. I have about 40 guinea fowl . Most have been hatched out by their mom or me. They have been healthy and trouble free for years. They're free range.
Today I noticed this one has horrible foot problems. I have no idea her age but she's free range and they don't seem to bother her, but it can't be good. I could try to catch her if you think there's something I can do for her. Thanks.

I googled around a little and am thinking maybe it's gout! No more dog kibble treats for her. Guess I'll get more sun flower seeds.

May also consider looking into scaly leg mites if guineas are susceptible.

Just curious have you caught her and inspected the bottoms of her feet? Kinda looks like a bad case of bumble foot gone wild to me. She may have injuries or splinters/thorns in/on the bottoms of her feet that caused infection to set in, resulting in the gnarly swelling. And she may be repetitively injuring her feet on something she's roosting on or landing on coming down from a roosting spot so they continue to swell/stay swollen. Guineas usually hide it extremely well when they are in pain.

Epsom salt soaks may help, but if there are injuries, splinters or bumble foot cores in her feet she'll need those taken care of, and then you'll have to deal with a long course of bandaging and soaking and keeping her caged (with/near the flock so they do not reject her) until she's fully recovered/healed. Doesn't sound like a lot of fun, Guineas are not particularly cooperative patients...

Hi I was given 4 chickens 2 roos and 2 hens one of the hens and one roo had what I will assume to be mites and her feet looked swollen as does your guineas I made a mixture of vegetable oil and GardStar garden & poultry dust with Permethrin I brushed it on their legs actually treated everyone (had 9 gave one roo away now have 8) every other night, [only way I could get near the new chickens] the first week then went to 3 times a week. It cleared up pretty quick the hens toes are somewhat deformed from not having it cared for right away she still has some that rise back up and I will treat her tonight, making a new mixture. We got them in the beginning of May after the third week I did this once a week. now when she flairs up. good luck

Okay, We caught her and took pictures. We couldn't see anything in the bottom of her feet but they were warm and some of the bumps were spongy. We cleaned them good with Betadine and sprayed them with alu shield and put her in a separate cage. If you think I need to cut them open I can but I think after care will be tough and it doesn't seem like that's the root of the problem???

she isn't scaley like mine was, she looks more puffy swollen like gout as you stated, poor baby must be in pain. my hen would switch feet to stand on she looked
like a pelican most of the time...hope you get it figured out soon...there is something called bumble foot but from the very little I have read/seen it does not look like it. good luck with her.

Thanks, I think the bottom of her feet would have a black spot if it was bumblefoot. We looked real well for any bugs and couldn't see any. I sort of hope it is gout. I don't know much about it but from what I read if we keep her away from layer feed and don't give her anything with too much protein or calcium it will help. I don't want to have to handle her too much, she was good once we had her but it was hard to get her.

even resembles like something was wrapped around her feet for a long time and
leaving them deformed ??

if you think gout, put some chopped cherries out for her...they will give her some relief.

we have an orchard, cherries,peaches and apples, and many old-timers come by
when cherries come in swearing the cherries give them relief from their gout.

Can't hurt to try...
