Hi! I have an olive egger pullet (Rhaenys, black and white chicken) who hasn’t started laying yet, she was between 3-4 months old when I got her June 8th, so she is around 6-7 months old now, her face is pretty red. Also she was sold to me as an olive egger, but she has feathered feet and 5 toes on each foot, not sure what she could be mixed with lol but if anyone could tell me possibilities that would be great! She’s my favorite chicken I have, super unique. Her coopmate Bertha (red chicken in pictures) has recently started laying this week, I know for sure it’s Bertha laying because i’ve seen her in the nesting box. Bertha is significantly bigger too but should be around the same age, I think she is a different mix. The lady thinks Bertha is either a RIR/EE mix or Jersey Giant/EE. She lays pink colored eggs. Hoping my olive egger though is an olive egger but doesn’t matter to me either way! Also the picture of both of them is a couple months old, Berthas comb is way bigger now but just to show size comparison. The picture of just Rhaenys is about a month old, only difference is her face is darker.

I'd say she's close but just not quite ready yet judging by the color of her comb. It's still pink. Is she squatting for you?

Hang in there! I'm still waiting for my Easter Eggers and Olive Eggers to lay. They're all over 6 months old. It's so exciting to see what color the eggs might be.

Her comb is significantly darker than in that picture but she isn’t squatting yet, she is making a fair amount of noise though. I have those two separated from my other layers in a different coop/run area but they still have interaction with each other though fencing, due to how my other hens act towards new birds, and she’s making noises comparable to what my layers make.
