Hi All,
My daughter and I have had some really unfortunate experiences with our flock over the last year, as well as some amazing survival stories. We have learned a lot, but we are, of course, still working hard to find the best ways to care fir our feather babies-especially when they are ill.
Currently, we have a little buckeye pullet who is looking very poorly. Yesterday afternoon she was walking around like normal, but last night I noticed that she was in the sick-chicken-huddle. We recently treated all of our young birds for coccidiosis, so I decided to go the other way with this little gal. I mega-doses her with vitamins in some baby food and gave her some electrolytes. She seemed a little more alert last night, but she has been asleep all day in the warm little bed I made for her away from everyone else. I have tried offering water a couple of times, but she has not been interested.
I am assuming it is time to try some corrid, but I am unsure if there will be any negative impact having so many vitamins so recently. What input do others have on this?

my gut reaction to your vitamin question specifically is go ahead with Corid asap. From having been struggling with a significant loss of flock to several death topics over the last year plus.... I have gained a lot of help from several folks in here..... I have learned a few search words to find threads with similar symptoms and then scan them for relevant advice or if possible repeated advice from other threads....

FYI here are a few threads that i have saved for struggles like this for you....

in this thread are folks giving suggested user ID's to tag and ask for advice/help.....

making sure she stays hydrated is very serious too....
here is a thread I found and shared my experience from their wisdom....

How recently did you treat with Corid? Are there any other symptoms? How is her poop? Her crop? Is she laying?Hows her appetite?

There are so many illnesses our feather babies are susceptible to....
