I've had my pair of peafowl for about 3 months now, they are 2 years old. The male does not have his tail yet but has already started displaying for the female (She doesn't care at all). I know she should start laying next year, but will they be fertile?

They sure are pretty!

Have you seen them mate at all? I'm sure they will or have been and maybe you didn't see it.

When she lays, the only way to know for sure is to crack one open but I would just trust they are and let her sit on her clutch of eggs.

Well he has been putting up his tail every day it seems, and I saw him try to mate with her once but failed. I heard most peahens start laying at 2 years old but I haven't gotten any eggs from her yet.
