I use a deck box since my garage is a hike too. Works well.We have a finished coop and run with the chicks happily out in it now! But I'm wondering where/how to store all the food and chicken supplies? My thought was the garage, but it's a bit of a hike for us. Thanks for sharing what you do!
Same. Bulk stuff and food is in the basement, but every day essentials go in the deck box.I use a deck box since my garage is a hike too. Works well.
We have a large area where the chickens run and roam. Part of that area, attached to the coop, is a tin roof that gives them protection from the weather and under there, we keep metal trash cans, with lids. The cans are filled with feed and scratch and there is also a straw box where we keep extra straw. The straw box is covered like a table top so is usable storage and work space. The straw box has a smaller space that is used as an area where, when one of my chickens is bullying others, they get to spend several days in. We do keep the cans chained close because we occasionally get racoons looking for food. Hope that gives you some ideas. We have a finished coop and run with the chicks happily out in it now!
