I am interested in purchasing around 100 jumbo brown and or A and M quail chicks and cannot find anywhere to be able to buy these birds! Does anyone know of a place to buy about 100 of these birds and get them shipped?

McMurray hatchery. But not many places sell coturnix as chicks it seems they don't ship as well as poultry chicks. You may find more selection buying eggs to hatch from what I've seen. Here in Illinois some of the farm stores (rural King, farm and fleet, orchelens) will special order them for you.

I checked Murray, and didn't see any coturnix for sale.what I am doing now is buying eggs. But I just lose so many in the shipping that it would seem better to just but the already hatched chicks.

You might want to check out kingshatchery on ebay. he is located in Pennsylvania, might be close to you. I have purchased from him several times with great results. My last order was for 110 eggs, he sent 140 had 2 that were broke and I hatched 120 out of the 138, 86% not to bad for shipped eggs.

Here are some places to check with. The last site lists Jumbo Brown Coturnix. You will have to contact them for prices and availability.

Sorry, I remembered they have quail, just not the coturnix! I think shipping on chicks is not real good rates either. Because they are smaller and higher metabolism the yolk gives them less reserve time than the chickens have after hatch. At least that's what I understand from web surfin'. Hopefully someone here will have actual experience to compare shipped eggs to shipped chicks. And pkhunter I hope you are right about kingshatchery- just having some come in today and am nervous. I ordered 60, just wanted about 20 birds to get my feet wet and see if I like them. Switching over from chickens. I was looking for chicks to order too but eggs were so much cheaper and I wanted nowhere near the min required. Good luck 18angovem
