Where to buy coop in Ma

Yes! And it's well worth the drive! Consider Coops for a Cause, up in NH. Sturdy, attractive, fully wired. Custom built. And half the price of most we found down this way. Don't buy the ones out of a box, they won't last a year. Www.coopsforacause.net. The guy used to build houses.

Welcome to BYC. Glad you decided to join our flock. If you are going to buy a pre-fab coop, I would go with the biggest one you can buy. Most pre-fab coops tend to be on the small side for more than 4 chickens and over-crowding can quickly lead to aggression, fighting, biting and feather plucking, and even cannibalism. You need a minimum of 4 sq. ft. of coop floor area per bird (not counting the area taken up by the nesting boxes) and 10 sq. ft. of ground area in the run (more is better). Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck in getting your coop.

Some people ' trick out 'a storage shed to make a good coop for chickens. You might like to check out the coops section for different styles, and sizes and building know how.

We are in Hudson, MA, If you are nearby, you are welcome to come take a look at the one we just got from Coops for a Cause. I should probably note that I have nothing to do with the company, we are just very satisfied with the results, especially after spending months researching various options. Prefab sheds, by the way, would have cost us about the same as this custom built coop, which in addition to electric has windows, nest boxes, a roost and poop tray, and is made of tongue and groove pine. As the name implies, the guys give a portion of every sale to charity.
