hi everyone i am looking for a place to buy a good chicken coop that will last, and also at a good price. i have 13 chickens and i was thinking about getting one at tsc but i got a rabbit hutch from there and after one year it just fell apart. so where do you buy your coop. thanks

Please, please save your money and do not buy a little, prefab coop. Nothing about them is good, unless maybe you have just one chicken and it’s placed inside.

Your investment should be put toward building your own. Really!

Check out the coop pages here. There are several great ones and I’m sure one will spark your fancy.

Aside from building your own coop, you can buy a shed and modify it to fit your needs. Prefab coops never hold as many birds as they say. You need 4sqFt per bird. You’ll need 52sqft total.
This is so true. There is the most awesome she’d T Home Depot that id buy in a flash if I had the money and wanted a bigger flock!

I would check on Craigslist, problem is how do you bring over the coop....... if you can get a good deal, I'd get a rented trailer from U-Haul and swoop it up.

If you are lucky where you live, you might find a someone that builds or sells coops that will deliver! We'r got ours from a place near Hendersonville, NC that sold coops and delivered as well. Oh and they set it up for us as well. :thumbsup

Search on Craigslist like was suggested. You may find coops people are selling or giving away but around here people also build coops so you can hire someone to build someone for you. That might be a good option if you are not handy or otherwise can’t/don’t want to build your own.
