White feathers on Buff Orpington roo?

I have a Buff Orpington roo, and on his tail he has some big white feathers? I know he didn't have them before, is this a comman part of chickens getting old? He also has some on his neck. Any ideas?

I do know that in some birds as they age they do get lighter is seems. Do you have a picture of him? That would help. How old is he?

I'll have to go out there and get a pic of him. Um, I think he's around ... 2 years maybe? I have another BO roo, and he is the SAME age as this this one, and he doesn't have any white feathers?

feathers can change in alot of different ways as the birds age, it usualy starts happening around 2-3 years old.

I have Buff Orpingtons, and this was one of my main problems as I bought eggs to hatch froma PURE BRED BUFF OR. seller....I have some of my Roos a deep rich beautiful golden bronze color, and then I have one roo that is what I called specked color, has the golden rich color, but with some white in it looks laced....?

Ill go take pictures for u to see...Im told they are buffs and thats normal....

ah not specked with white, but actual feathers have some white, whole feathers, I wonder also, I have one that has BLACK!!! on his feathers....they are Buffs, but Im wondering if that means they were mixed????

I'm guessing he may be mixed with a white rock but I could be wrong. I'm betting an orp breeder will find this post soon and help you identify what's going on. I'm pretty sure they should not have any white feathering going on. Miss Prissy would be a good one to ask...she has many orps.

I have a Buff who was supposedly pure who has black on his tail feathers. He's Beautifully colored otherwise... I'm guessing there's another breed or a black Orp in his past.
