Hey guys,
I have a 3-week old white leghorn sold as a pullet by a local feed store in Connecticut.
This chick has feathered out so much faster than the rest of the baby chicks (all different breeds). Below are her pictures taken today. Her comb has gotten bigger, and the wattle started to very slowly showing, no red in either comb or wattle yet. When I get my hand in the brooder to either change their food or water, she's the one that runs up to my hand, walk with her chest up, and has pecked at my hand at times, once or twice.
Is that a normal behavior for a pullet, or it is mainly for the cockerels?
Her legs are huge, she's the sweetest of all, she loves attention and wants to be in my lap or on my shoulders.
Can anyone help me identify her gender based on the pics posted. I am new at raising chicks. I've been doing a lot of research on each breed i own, but I want someone else's input regarding the gender based on the pics.
Thanks!
