First time chicken owner here.
A few month ago we bought two white leghorn pullets, one of them is the classic pure white, yellow legs white leghorn who started laying pure white eggs about a month ago.
My girl Aretha however has this beautiful brown colouring around her head and neck and only started laying this week and produced very light brown coloured eggs.
Her temperament seems to be more approachable and less flighty than my other white leghorn as well.

Do you think she’s a white leghorn or a mixbreed of some kind? The farm I got her from also raises ISA Browns and black australorps.

Ya she's not a leghorn.
Could be a leghorn/isa cross

Oh I have it set up so whenever "leghorn" or "need a name" Is posted it instantly texts me.
That’s amazing! I really appreciate the quick reply.

I tried to find threads or pictures of ISA/leghorn crossed before but just couldn’t find any that seemed to look like my chook.

The pics appear to show a hen with white ears? If what I have learned so far (which isn't a lot I admit), shouldn't she lay white eggs? Are you sure she is the one laying the brown eggs?

Lobe color has no connection to egg color.
