This chick is 6 weeks old. I’m wondering about the feathers along the neck. Does that determine if it’s a rooster? Or do hens sometimes have pointed feathers there? Very sweet bird. No other male behavior or crowing (yet?)

At six weeks this bird is looking VERY female. Single comb is yellow and small. The "pointy" hackle feathers are an illusion because they are laced. If you look at the individual feathers you will see they have round edges. She also has female specific coloring. Beautiful bird.😊
