Purchased these three from a farm down the street. All were straight run and I was told they were “mostly Ameraucana”. I have absolutely no clue of age but they seem about the same size as my 5/6 week old chicks. I am not familiar with breeds but assumed they were likely some type of Easter eggers. What does everyone think?! I tried to get some pics in natural light so you can better see markings, all are numbered by bird 1,2,3. Any guesses if pullets/cockerels?

Another note, since they all seem to still be feathering out I'd guess closer to the 5 week mark, but again I'm new.

I’m new as well so I’m definitely learning as we go. Number 1 is the biggest of my flock and 2/3 are the exact same size (all others are 5/6 weeks) so I think you’re correct

I agree that they're definitely Easter Eggers with those fluffy cheeks.

As for gender, give it a little more time but I also agree with @Yardmom that the second one pictured does have some suspect coloring. That one may be a cockerel.

Things to look for: splotchy, uneven coloring is male specific. Red/rust color showing up on the shoulders is male specific. The pea comb will often be wider and redder than pullets (until the girls get to Point of Lay).

An EE with the color of #2 is most likely a cockeral. He is not showing other boy signs yet, so it might be a couple weeks before you will be able to tell what the other 2 are.
Is the coloring something typically seen with males? I am interested in how you know that, especially because I think he is a cockerel myself. It has grown different than the other two, seems to carry itself differently, and has a much different personality constantly messing with the others. We call it the menace!! I have another suspected cockerel and these two are constantly chest bumping.

Thank you so much for the things to look for!! I had just replied to yardmom asking what made them believe cockerel as I definitely think he is
