Does anyone live in the Mid Ohio Valley, around Belpre, Marietta, Parkersburg that know where I can get whole grains for my flock. the current mixture that I have doesn't have enough protein. Right now I can find Cracked corn, sunflower seeds, whole oats.

I bought a bag of layer pellets and the only thing that will eat the pellets are the ducks.

Maybe also post in the OH and WV forums on BYC. There are forums for every state. Recommend using same title, but use your city, state instead of “Mid-Ohio valley”.

Thank's for the heads up, I am new to this site and can't seem to find that page.

On main forum page, there is heading “Social”. Under that is “where am I, where are you”. Then there is a state “sticky” at top -find your state. Hopefully someone in your local area will reply with helpful information.

Only other advice is to google various terms (or search google maps) to find “feed mill” or “grain mill” or “feed supply” or “farm store” or “poultry supply” in your area- you might find that one of these search terms (or others you think of) will get you some pertinent results. I’m always surprised how search terms (that seem nearly identical) come up with very different or many more results.

Whole grains will never provide the proper amount of protein for a flock of chickens to be-all-that-they-can-be Instead give them whole grains supplemented with Pig or Hog Chow. Adding some Calf Mama will help as well as adding blood meal, bone meal, tankage, fish meal, shrimp meal, and dog food.
