Why is my chicken honking like a goose?

I have a 12 week old speckled sussex. I was under the assumption she was a pullet.

Lately she has been honking like a goose at times. She is growing at a very slow pace compared to my other chickens and is definitely at the bottom of the pecking order of my 5 pullets. (She does get pushed around but no pecking or hurting.)

I am new to raising chickens and was wondering if honking is something they do or is it a precursor to a crow? Is there something wrong or is she a roo?

Some of my pullets make a honk sound, usually if they get hurt, like if their head gets stuck in the fence while they're trying to get grass.
Also, someone is making squeeze toy sounds every so often. From the picture, I think your SS is female, fwiw.

Thanks for the reassurance. I don't think she is hurt, just vocal at times.

I have a hen named Honky for this very reason. Ever since she started growing into her "big girl voice" she occasionally honks, as if she were part goose.
