Wild Goose Encounters!

Being at college I can't always see my goose friends at home, but I sure can appreciate some wild geese!
In this thread, post about your encounters with our wild geese friends!
Here is a pair of the many wild geese that visit our campus every spring:

A few weeks ago, I saw a white goose in a flock of Canadas!
Based on it's short neck and small bill (I know the picture doesn't show it, my phone camera doesn't zoom) I think I saw a Ross's goose (a great rarity in Wisconsin) but it might have been a Snow Goose. I've never seen either before (though a few days later I saw both at the National Zoo on a D.C. trip) and seeing either one in the wild is a total win!

Here are the Canada geese and Trumpeter swans that live on the local lake
The swans are only common there during the winter but we are blessed by the graceful geese year round!

This summer we went to Bay Beach Wildlife sanctuary where they have wild geese that are tamer than my domestic geese! XD
They sell corn their to fund their wildlife rehabilitation efforts, and people feed it to the geese by hand!

This one has a funky white collar!

this one has a collar and white eyebrows. I think these are Giant Canada goose subspecies traits.

The corn nibbling feels funny. Sometimes they accidentally bite you but it hurts a lot less than the powerful domestic bills!

A goose (or duck) will look at a meadow of burnt destruction and think "Water. "
(It was a controlled burn but still...)
