Hi, a wild peacock has taken up at my house and he has been around here about 2 months. He spends the night high above a pine tree and spends the day wondering around the neighborhood but mainly at my house, may be because I'm feeding him (granola with fruit and nuts)
I want to learn how to take care of him smartly and keep him being free. My yard is good enough size for him. I have not seen another peacock hanging around.
Any and all ideas will be welcomed.
Besides what I'm feeding him what can I feed him?
Thanks

Hi :welcome

Glad you could join the flock! I'm afraid I have no experience with peafowl but you sure do have a beautiful bird there. I'm sure of you drop by the peafowl section other keepers there will be able to help you with all your questions. Here is the link ~ https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/51/peafowl

Wishing you the very best of luck and enjoy BYC :frow

Welcome to BYC!

What a beautiful bird and kind of you to care for him. Yorkshire coop has given you the best place to get more information about peas. I've never raised them but sometimes go to that forum just to look at the photos, they are so pretty.

Good luck to you, nice to have you join us!

We have a great member on here user name BIRDRAIN who is very, very knowledgeable about peacocks. Maybe you will be able to locate him though the search box.

I've read of others who have taken in stray peacocks, or more aptly, the peacock decides to move onto their property. Never have anything like that happen here.
