Will a Rooster Keep Drakes away from Chicken Hens?

I have drakes and I've seen them dragging that thing around after they mate, I think it's a good 12 inches long, not kidding. I agree it's narrow and snakey, not thick in circumference, but all that length is way more than a hen would be designed to accommodate.

Besides the possibility of internal damage, drakes are also sexually aggressive enough they've been known to drown hen ducks while mating, especially if there's more than one drake. Drakes and chicken hens are just not a good combo, and a rooster isn't usually aggressive enough to protect his hens.

I would think it would be too long for a duck hen too......trying really hard(haha) not to make any 12" jokes.

I know, I keep telling myself "Family friendly, family friendly"

I don't know what duck hens do with it. I just see the drakes literally dragging it around on the ground after they mate or attempt to mate. Skeeves me out about as much as the Naked Necks do!
