I’m preparing for three geese to arrive soon. While I’ve had chickens for a long time, this will be my first geese. The intent is to allow them to free range within a very large low fenced area and then be housed at night in a smaller fenced in area with a secure coop.
There is a fair amount of Japanese stilt grass on the property despite my best non-chemical efforts to eradicate it. Nothing seems to eat it, not even deer. My chickens ignore it except when it is just sprouting.
Will Chinese Weeders eat it? Should they be allowed to? Since it’s in the bamboo family I worry that it’s too fibrous and might cause impactions.
