Will spooked nesting Canada geese come back?

I've been watching a wild pair of nesting Canada geese nest on our pond. Tonight some fireworks scared them enough for them to fly away, like over the trees until I could not longer hear their fading flock calls.

Will they typically come back to their nest?

When I lived in CA there was a nesting pair that used the top of a huge rock near the pond for three years. A fox got at the nest one year and they left and weren't seen again that year. They returned the next year (at least I think it's the same pair). Now, maybe it was a different pair each year.

No. They did not return and the pair of red fox were out there last night. Drat. :/
