Will spraying our lawn for grubs hurt my chicken?

We currently have one hen. She is 100% free range. We moved and haven't gotten a coop yet. We have a major Japanese Beetle problem here. Tru Green is supposed to spray our lawn to eliminate grubs. Will this hurt my chicken? They say she'll be OK once it dries, but worried they might now know well enough.

It depends on what they are using. If it's a standard pesticide, I'd not allow them to step foot on my property for any reason. Since you say that they say she'll be ok after it dries, if they were talking to me, I'd be firing them immediately. We all have our own definition of what "ok" means.

There are non toxic methods to control JB. I allow trap crops to grow around the perimeter of my yard, then go around with a hand held collection bag and collect treats for the birds on a regular basis. You can see the collection bag I devised in the photos at the end of my "interview" (listed in my signature, which can be pasted into a search bar). Milky Spore and beneficial nematodes are very safe, and depending on your climate, they may persist in the soil to provide benefit in years to come.

We have a Japanese beetle problem too and in the worst areas I dug up the soil and the girls had a wonderful grub feast!
