Will these eggs even hatch?

I have two broody hens sitting on eggs in the barn. Four are supposed to hatch Monday, another 8 in two weeks. It's going to be 108, 106, 104....and as far out as forecasted, 102 is the lowest temp for the next 7 days. I have a big high velocity fan going in the barn that circulates air nicely, and a mister in the outdoor attached run. They all free range during the day. The barn and run are very shaded but I can only get the temp down in the barn a few degrees lower than outside. I work 4 twelve hour shifts in a row, so aside from running the mister, and a once daily water change (I have LOTS of waterers available always) I can't do much else. Think the eggs/chicks will survive the heat?? :( #readyforwinter

I am from Wisconsin and we do not have temperatures like yours. So this is just a guess. The hen's body warms the eggs while the temperature around her are cooler; I'd think that same body would insulate the eggs from getting to warm when the surrounding temperatures are high. Since the hens are continuing to brood I'd think the eggs will hatch. Please post the results of these hen's efforts to hatch chicks. I'm sure many of us would like to know what happens.

Yeah, I mean in nature, in the wild birds sit on eggs in all temps and hatch just fine. So, I'd agree that the hen must somewhat insulate plus the temp gets hot but doesn't stay that temp more than a few hours on average, the barn will be slightly cooler. I'd bet the eggs will hatch if they are good eggs.

I'm new to this website so I don't know if I'm asking questions the right way but i have owned chickens for about two or three years and one of my hens is broody and has been laying on eggs for over three weeks I don't know if they are fertile to begin with I don't even have a rooster BUT my neighbor does he has a few and my bird has ran off before but today my mom picked her up and she is starting to look weak but while my mom picked her up and I smelled the eggs and they don't smell rotten but they do smell kind of like a hard boiled egg I tilted the egg to look at it and it was like I heard a rock in the egg like a rock hit the side of the egg from the inside it has been very hot lately is it possible that the egg has dehydrated my main question is do I throw the eggs away or will my bird give up sooner or later

The eggs sound bad. The hen might give up, but I'd throw the eggs out and lock the hen away from the nest, Hopefully that would stop her from being broody,

Thank you so much I was so scared no one would reply

For the most part it's a very friendly group here.No need to fear asking questions. If it's been several weeks and she is thin yes, toss the eggs and try and break her from brooding. Usually this means separating her from the nest. Feed her extra.
