Winterizing - open their door or keep it closed?

afraid of the heat lamp too I was, so buying one with a security I did, cost a little more it did, but for better sleep at night worth it. Now when heat is okay the lamp stops it work and lights up once the temp goes low. Sorry my english please, I live in Quebec and French is my language.

For those concerned about several feet of snow-snow is a great insulator! We heat our home with wood and when we get a nice blanket of snow we use much less wood. It is the cold wind that siphons the heat away. The coop will act in the same way.
