My dad has about 5+ 6ft privacy fencing panels at his house and is offering them to me for the coop. I'm not really sure how I could make use of them. S.O. Says I can use the boards for the inside walls ... Any other uses? We are about to start working on laying the 3/4" floor in the coop.

If anyone has anymore ideas of anything coop/chicken wise I could make using these that would be great!

I don't see why you couldn't use them for the outside walls, if they are treated or weatherproofed for outdoor use. In your climate you shouldn't need insulation or inside walls. You can always paint the coop for additional weather protection if necessary.

Hi Judy,

Thank you for the reply and I should have clarified...I already have a Barn standing, but it is older and we had planed to take OSB to seal the walls since there are some iffy spots where animals could possibly work themselves in. So I thought we could just use the fence boards to cover the walls on the inside and using these for the walls would save me quite a bit of money! Might be a little more work, but can't beat free. I know there are other boards to other than just the fence boards themselves so might be able to make some use out of them some how.

Like I normally used to paint my fence which I personally built up by using old office stuff like some door panels, window panels, office furniture, desks etc and it look like this

I hope this would help you out!!

ive used the individual pickets to make walls, floors, and roofs. they are cheap and hold up. ran some on table saw getting 45 deg anggle so they joined with no gaps
