Would you keep chicks that have a crackle sound?

Will do. I appreciate it! I’ve heard it for about 3-4 weeks now and they haven’t gotten worse but hasn’t gone away like I was hoping.
The breeder I purchased mine from kept some for their grow out and posted a video and a chick in the background appears to be in respiratory distress so now I’m feeling even worse. There is a 7 week gap since being together but still..

Did you ask the breeder about it? How are the chicks now? Hoping all is resolved in a good way.

I didn’t ask about the chick in the video. Even though I would have loved to. I did ask about her flocks respiratory health and was assured she hadn’t seen any flare ups..
The chicks never got worse and the crackling isn’t noticeable now. Maybe developing air sacks!? That’s what I’m telling myself at least.

Hi! How loud is yours? Mine was faint enough you had to put your ear close. I came to the conclusion theirs was just developing air sacks.
Mine is the same, only can hear it if everything is quiet! I think I’m a little paranoid about respiratory because we had issues in past flocks!

That is me too! I was so paranoid I could hardly enjoy my chicks. Unless it gets worse and you start seeing open mouth breathing or other signs my advice is to just enjoy them. So many birds carry things like mycoplasma anyways. It’s hard to avoid.
