Wry Neck? - Few-Day Old Silkie Chick

Sounds like a good plan! Also, make sure the vitamin b complex has b1 or thiamine (same thing just different names).
Out of these, which is best? 🤔

Oh! And do I just dissolve in water for tablets then give via syringe?

I feel like the liquid one is probably overkill or may even have something bad for chicks in it, but I wanted to get as many options as possible so I was prepared.

Either the middle or the bottom one works. I like the percentages of the top one a lot better than the bottom two but the added grape flavouring turns me away from it.
Yeah, I was so disappointed there wasn't one without flavoring because that always worries me. Even the tablets had it.

I'll give the bottom one a go since it's got a little more oomph. Thank you again SO much! I'll keep this updated.

Yup! You'll have to give a smaller dose given that this is a lot of vitamins and most of it will be wasted. You can break it in half or even a quarter and then dissolve it in water to administer it via syringe.

Liquid vitamins is perfectly fine to give. But you're right in that this particular liquid has ingredients I'd shy away from when giving it to chickens.

Flavouring isn't always bad and in a pinch I would give a chicken one with flavouring but non-flavoured options is a lot better.

Sounds good and of course! Yeah let me know how it goes. Hoping for a positive outcome.

Today doesn't seem better so far but I know it can take weeks to see an improvement. I'm so worried I'm not going to feed/hydrate the poor baby well enough, but so far I've gotten its crop at least half full of some medicine mix and egg yolk. ;~; It really does not seem able to do the mash well yet but I'm hoping with poultry cell in the egg yolk and plenty of hydration it will keep it going until it's more stable and wanting the mash. I'm going to try to make it super watery when I try again in a couple ours to see if that helps.

My question for today is: Yesterday, he was mostly bent over backwards. Today, he's curled down/inwards. Is it normal their positioning changes with wry neck as treatment is ongoing? Or should I be worried? :( It's only been less than 24 hours since getting started on ALL the vitamins, and I know it's not going to be an instant or even easy fix, but I wanted to be sure the change of positioning isn't worrisome. He does seem to be able to hold himself up much better today when I'm feeding him. Yesterday he was totally bent backwards and today even though when he's not being held he's curled inwards, when I hold him to eat he's mostly able to hold himself up with my help.

I was so scared I'd wake up to him passed away. He seemed so lonely so I possibly did a bad thing - I put two of our very most docile Bantams with it. However, it got Weebles up and moving more. They've not pecked at him once, and actually get upset when I take him out for his vitamin treatments and cuddle with him. They've not trampled over him or pecked him once (they were our smallest ones too) and try to bring him over to their feed. He seems a lot more active since putting them in there, and a lot more receptive to getting his vitamins and such though. They step back when he's doing his tumbles moving around. It's almost like they know he needs to be treated extra carefully despite being little cheeps themselves. Normally I wouldn't have, but he seemed so sad and alone even with the mirror and stuffed plush in there. He perked up so much when I added the other two that I hope it was okay to do after carefully monitoring how they treat him/interact with him nonstop for hours before leaving them in there together.
When I went in this morning, they were both curled up together UNDER him to help support him. :hit It was so cute.

Pics from today. I’m working on getting a video uploaded.
But basically he is more curved to the side/inwards today. He also seems to sometimes be standing on his head and I’m worried he will accidentally make it worse? I know it has to be painful. But if there’s something I need to do additionally then I want to help. Unless it’s actually better for them to just not fight it. </3

He got mad as HECK about me trying to feed him egg yolk but I HAD just given him his second dose of selenium + e for the day, so maybe he was full for the moment. I’ll try again later for sure.

He really doesn't seem to be doing so well tonight. :( I'm so anxious. I've done his twice daily vitamins and am trying to get him to get yolk down, but he's not so interested in eating it... I am definitely keeping him hydrated, but ugh. He definitely won't do the mash. Gonna try egg yolk again here in a bit. I put the other chicks back in the other brooder as, even though they were angels with him, they started to get into the 'kick bedding everywhere' habit and would kick some over poor Weebles, so I instead got a second plushie.
I'm wondering what I'm doing wrong for him to seem so much worse off today than yesterday. Argh. Going to keep at it, but I'm hoping he's just tired and will accept some egg yolk later.

His decline was very rapid. :( I must have done something incorrectly... I at least have a whole lot of vitamins on hand in case we need them in the future. I'm going to watch even more youtube videos on it to try to handle it properly in the future if we get another wry neck chick.
