Hello everyone, this morning I noticed this chick's odd behavior and I'm not really sure what it is.

They don't seem off balance and they're eating and drinking. I added some vitamins to their water but I'm just a little worried about what it could be.

The video can't be posted here for some reason so I just added the link to the Reddit post I made in BYC's sub Reddit.

It looks to my like she is having some breathing trouble. Can you massage her crop and see if seems too hard?
She's breathing fine! I think it might be a vitamin E Deficiency. I gave her some Stressguard and her head went back to normal. But after an hour it was back to her head bobbing. I think she'll need some TLC for a week or two.

It looks more like small seizure activity, or neurological symptoms. I would give human vitamin E by opening a 400 IU softgel and some thiamine which is in most chick vitamins.

I've just bought some, I heard giving those with some boiled egg yolk really works well. It stopped for a while last night but came back this morning.

Any updates on this? I’m having similar issues I think. The chick is only a few days old, seems to be in perfect health, eating, drinking, pooping, but then will start to chirp in distress and collapse. I thought she was trying to itch eyes or face but this last occurrence she seemed to pass out at the end of it. I picked her up right after and she woke up and was acting normal again. Vent is clear, I’ve done electrolytes (with a separate plain water so they can drink both). I’ve lowered the heat lamp, given egg yolk, vetrx and nutridench (separately). She does tend to stuff her whole head into the chick feed and ends up with powder all over her face, I was hoping she was just itching because of that but I’m not very confident in that after watching the last fit.

Full recovery! What I did was gave her boiled egg yolks along with vitamin E capsule. I'd squeeze some gel from the capsule and she'd happily peck at and drink it. You can also add it to their water but I found it better to just give a bit through a syringe or let her take some from the capsule.

I put some vitamins (stressguard) in her water for 3 days and then regular water for 1 day. I gave her some sugar water when she was weaker on some days too. She needed me to show her where the food is before she got the motivation to eat again. If your chick doesn't want to eat, raw egg yolk through a syringe really perked up my chick!
