Hello
I had a black copper Marian chick hatch with extreme wry neck. She couldn't even stay upright it was so severe. She would be laying on her back Everytime I checked her.
I didn't have anything on hand to treat her. I had a tube of selenium vitamin e gel that I use on my goats. I searched for dosing with no luck. I decided to put one tiny drop in her mouth and helped her to drink plenty of water afterwards.
In 15 min you could no longer tell which chick had wry neck. It was amazing. We are almost at two weeks old now and all are doing amazing. I just wanted to share because I was unable to find any information on anyone using this product to help with wry neck.
I want to see what others think about it.

Yes I had to share! I'm just amazed by how fast it worked. I was shocked.
I was a bit worried at first because I was afraid of OD but it's the only thing I had.
I would use it again if I came across wry neck in the future.

That is wonderful. We have been assigned an 8 week old pullet that seems to have wry neck. She has improved with poultry vitamins, but she still cannot walk. She has lots of energy is a hungry henny, but she pushes herself over when she tries to walk. Her neck is a little funny, she holds it low most of the time. She seems to have no balance, although her strength and range of motion have improved. My son is thinking of making a walker for her. she sleeps in a sling now.

Aww poor girl, I hope she gets stronger soon! I have a soft spot for the chicks that need extra love. I'd love to see the walker if he does make one, how interesting!

Is it possible to give too much of the B vitamins? I was just giving B3 but it seems they need the whole complex

B3 is not one that helps with legs. Poultry vitamins with riboflavin (B2)and thiamine (B1,) or B complex tablets (1/4 tablet crushed on food daily) should be used for leg health. It is hard to overdose B vitamins since they are water soluble, and the excess is excreted. Do not use NutriDrench because it does not contain B2. Are you using vitamin E 400 IU daily for the wry neck?

You can't OD B vitamins. Whatever they don't use, they will release it. B complex is an awesome thing to have around for most animals.
You can OD selenium and that is why I was worried about the selenium Vit. E gel.
