Both the Sapphires and the Cream Legbars will lay blue eggs. The Sapphires will lay a large, light blue egg.

Entirely. Sapphires were created long before the Sapphire Gems existed.

Sapphires are an F1 hybrid made by crossing White Leghorns with Cream Legbars. Because they are true hybrids, they will not breed true.

They lay a large, light blue egg because they only have one blue egg gene. They lay nearly as often as their white leghorn parents.

I hadn’t even heard of them before now, but they sound like a chicken I need in my life. I only have brown layers.
