I don’t have any help for you as far as your actual question but I did move to Georgia with my chickens and I can recommend that you look into the rules to bring in poultry.Hi Georgia peeps! I just got a new job in Augusta Georgia and I'll be moving to the area this summer. I have six silkies: four hens and two roosters. I'm looking to live in an area within an hour's drive of Augusta, to the west of the city. Does anyone have any suggestions about general areas that allow roosters? I've started checking zoning laws but I'm struggling to make headway in the more rural areas.
Before I moved from Wyoming I had to have a Wyoming vet look at them and get a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection. Then once I got here I had to have GPLN come out and test my flock, until the results were final my flock was in quarantine. It actually wasn’t much of a big deal but it was something I had to keep track of along with all the other complications of moving.
Good luck with your move!
